Storytelling in Natural History Panel at The Media Production & Technology Show 2023

I was stoked to speak on a panel at The Media Production & Technology Show 2023 chatting about storytelling in Natural History and how technology plays a big role in capturing sequences above and below the water.

Honoured to share the stage with Anwar Mamon, Ross Birnie and George Panayiotou and we covered everything from approaches to storytelling, working in remote locations, diversifying the industry and of course kit!

As a self shooting director, I am constantly trying to amplify female voices and using the female gaze in storytelling creates a more authentic and inclusive representation of human experience and how we interact with the natural world.

Personally, I find that character driven narratives help the audience to connect on a deeper emotional level and I love focusing on human/animal inspirational and conflict arcs to really highlight the realities of our current climate.
